York Region celebrates National Nurses Week
On behalf of York Regional Council and The Regional Municipality of York, it is my pleasure to acknowledge May 9 to May 15, 2022, as National Nurses Week.
Over the past two years, we have witnessed first-hand the selfless dedication and commitment of the thousands of women and men throughout York Region who have dedicated their lives to the health and well-being of others. Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, York Region’s nurses have worked hard both day and night providing their skills, expertise and care to help us all through these challenging times.
Nurses are an integral part of our health care system, and as we look to post-pandemic recovery, they will continue to play a critical role in protecting and promoting health and safety in our communities. Whether caring for patients, administering vaccines, responding to a pandemic or providing emergency care, nurses put themselves and their families at great risk in in order to support our residents when they need it most.
On behalf of York Region and our 1.2 million residents, I extend our greatest appreciation to York Region’s compassionate and caring nurses for the work they do to keep us all healthy and safe. Happy National Nurses Week and thank you for your commitment to keeping our communities strong, healthy and safe.
