York Region celebrates Paramedic Services Week
On behalf of York Regional Council and The Regional Municipality of York, I am pleased to acknowledge May 22 to May 28, 2022, as Paramedic Services Week and recognize the dedicated individuals who work tirelessly to keep our 1.2 million residents healthy and safe.
York Region’s paramedics are highly skilled professionals ready to respond at a moment’s notice to critical health emergencies across our Region. Front-line paramedics meet our residents during some of their most challenging moments, always doing so with care and compassion.
This year’s theme, The Faces of Paramedicine, celebrates the many different specialties of the paramedic profession and the countless individuals that successfully deliver front-line care in acute and non-acute environments. From patient care, fleet management and logistics to operational planning, scheduling and administration, York Region Paramedic Services work to ensure residents are provided with the highest quality of care in their greatest time of need.
As we have seen over the last two years, York Region Paramedics have been essential to the Region’s front-line COVID-19 response, often putting themselves and their families at risk to support the health and safety of our communities.
During Paramedic Services Week and all year long, we recognize the passion, expertise and dedication of paramedics, emergency medical dispatchers and the network of paramedic support staff who help create safe, healthy communities for all residents in York Region.
On behalf of Regional Council and our residents, I extend our deepest appreciation to York Region Paramedic Services and thank them for the important contributions they make to the community.
