The Lendery

lendery coming soon

York Region, Markham Public Library and York Region Makers partner to deliver the Region’s first Lendery – A Library of Things

You are installing a shelf and discover you need a power drill you’ve never needed before.

You want to take the kids camping for the first time and need camping equipment, but you’re not sure if they’ll even like it.

You’re throwing a 50th Anniversary party for your parents and need a coffee urn.

Do you need to own the power drill, the camping gear and the coffee urn or would it be easier to just borrow these things? If you answered it would be easier to borrow, then a Lendery is for you!

What is a Lendery?

A Lendery is like a library where you sign ‘things’ out rather than books – things you need at the moment but don’t need to own. Your Lendery membership entitles you to borrow a wide range of items including:

  • Camping equipment
  • Party supplies
  • Sewing equipment
  • Small kitchen appliances
  • Sports equipment
  • Tools
  • Toys and games
  • Yard/garden tools

Why Use a Lendery?

The Lendery can save you money, space and time.

  • No need to spend money on a new item
  • No need to find or make space to store the item
  • No need to spend time researching best brands and prices
