Tips and Tricks for a Beautiful Garden

Create beautiful outdoor spaces while reducing your watering needs. Fusion gardens require less water than traditional gardens; this means less time to maintain and more time to relax.

Designed to thrive naturally with rainwater, this landscape design style combines stunning colours and textures to create colourful and stylish landscapes. Landscape elements such as rain gardens, bioswales and permeable pavers allow rainwater to be used within the property and the landscape.

Check out the Grow Me Instead guide to native plants to help keep invasive plants out of your garden.

Create a Pollinator Paradise

Planting native flowers, including milkweed, will attract butterflies, bees and other important pollinators to your yard and provide the food and shelter they need. Every wildflower, shrub or tree that is planted will make a difference.

In 2017, York Region became the first Monarch butterfly-friendly region through the National Wildlife Federation Mayors’ Monarch Pledge program. York Region is dedicated to planting Monarch and other pollinator habitats and we encourage you to do the same.
