Ballantrae-Musselman Lake Water Supply Environmental Assessment
York Region has completed a Schedule B Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (Class EA) study to establish the preferred solution to provide long-term water supply and storage, for the Ballantrae-Musselman Lake area, in the Town of Whitchurch-Stouffville.
York Region conducted a review of the long-term water supply and as a result of the review, has identified the preferred alternative to increase the water taking from 4580 m3/day to 5420 m3/day by using the existing wells.
This notice places the project file on the public record for public review and comment for 30 calendar days from October 5, 2017 to November 3, 2017. Electronic copies of supporting documents are available upon request. The project file is available for public review on York Region’s website, york.ca/EA and a copy is available at the following locations during regular business hours:

If concerns cannot be resolved through discussions with York Region, a person may request the Minister of the Environment and Climate Change issue a Part II Order requesting this project comply with Part II of the Environmental Assessment Act. A Part II Order Request must be received by the Minister at the address below no later than November 3, 2017.
