Construction of the Sharon Trunk Sanitary Sewer in the Town of East Gwillimbury

NOTICE OF CONSTRUCTION

The Regional Municipality of York (York Region) will be working in your community to build a sanitary sewer. This project was identified in York Region’s Long Term Wastewater Master Plan.

A construction contract has been awarded to Con-Drain Company (1983) Limited for the installation of a 900 mm sanitary sewer in East Gwillimbury. The route will run east of 2nd Concession along the north end of Rogers Reservoir, northeast along the hydro line corridor and past Mount Albert Road to Leslie Street. Within environmentally sensitive zones, the sewer will be constructed using trenchless technology construction methods; open cut construction will be used within the existing hydro line corridor and proposed development sections throughout the project.

Con-Drain will be required to provide and maintain environmental protection measures throughout the duration of the contract and provide and maintain access at all times, for residents, businesses and emergency vehicles. Major traffic delays are not anticipated from the project. Any potential lane closures will be posted on digital message signs, on York.ca and via Facebook and Twitter.
