The Regional Municipality of York (York Region) works hard to maintain the excellent condition of Regional roads for motorists, cyclists, pedestrians and transit users. York Region is making temporary improvements to a culvert on King Road, east of 8th Concession and is planning for a replacement in the near future.
Construction is anticipated to begin in summer 2021 and is anticipated to take 30 days to complete. This work may be rescheduled due to weather conditions or delays related to COVID-19 and Public Health guidelines. York Region will provide advance notice whenever possible.
Improvements include:
Relining the culvert to improve durability and to maintain it in a state of good repair
Restoring the slope to ensure there are no impacts to the environment
Improving the sight line to the northwest corner of King Road and 8th Concession
King Road will remain open to traffic throughout construction, and access to residences and businesses will be maintained. However, to accommodate construction, temporary lane reductions may be required between Monday and Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. York Region will make every effort to minimize disruptions and we thank you for your patience and understanding.
For everyone’s safety, please reduce your speed through the construction area. If you have any questions regarding this project, contact information is listed below. To better assist you, please quote King Road and 8th Concession culvert improvements in your inquiry.
