Notice of Road Construction

19th Avenue to south of Stouffville Road
In the City of Richmond Hill

The Regional Municipality of York (York Region) works hard to maintain the excellent condition of Regional roads for motorists, cyclists, pedestrians and transit users. York Region is making improvements to Leslie Street from 19th Avenue to the CN Rail tracks (south of Stouffville Road) in the City of Richmond Hill.

Road improvements on Leslie Street include removing and replacing the existing asphalt. This work is required to improve the strength of the roadway to better accommodate expected growth of travellers along Leslie Street.

Construction is anticipated to begin the week of August 24, 2020 and is expected to be completed in mid-October 2020. This work may be rescheduled due to weather conditions or delays related to COVID-19 Public Health guidelines. York Region will provide advance notice whenever possible.

Leslie Street will remain open to traffic throughout construction, and access to residences and businesses will be maintained. To facilitate construction, Leslie Street will be reduced to one lane Monday to Saturday between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. Construction activities may occur outside of these hours and on weekends.

York Region will make every effort to minimize disruptions and we thank you for your patience and understanding. For everyone’s safety, please reduce your speed through the construction area.
