Northeast Vaughan Water and Wastewater Servicing
The Regional Municipality of York (York Region) initiated a Class Environmental Assessment (Class EA) study in June 2014 to identify the water and wastewater infrastructure needed to service anticipated growth in northeast Vaughan to the year 2051. The Class EA study is proceeding under Schedule B of the Municipal Engineers Association “Municipal Class Environmental Assessment,” (October 2000, as amended) under the Ontario Environmental Assessment Act.
The northeast Vaughan water service area is generally located from King-Vaughan town boundary line to Teston Road and from Highway 27 to Dufferin Street. The northeast Vaughan wastewater service area is generally located from King-Vaughan town boundary line to Langstaff Road and from west of Kipling Avenue to Dufferin Street. Both service areas are shown on the map below.

York Region will be hosting the first round of Public Consultation Centres (PCCs) to discuss the purpose of the project, alternative water and wastewater servicing solutions, and preliminary alternative sites and routes for the recommended water and wastewater facilities. The format of the PCCs will be a combination of drop-in open house and formal presentation, followed by a question-and-answer period. The PCCs will be held:
