from Mount Albert Road to Highway 404
In the Town of East Gwillimbury

Update July 8, 2020

The Regional Municipality of York (York Region) works hard to maintain the excellent condition of Regional roads for motorists, cyclists, pedestrians and transit users. York Region is making improvements to Woodbine Avenue from 50 metres south of Mount Albert Road to Highway 404 in the Town of East Gwillimbury.

Construction began early May 2020 and is expected to be complete in the fall of 2020. This work may be rescheduled due to weather conditions or delays related to COVID-19 Public Health guidelines. York Region will provide advance notice whenever possible.

Road improvements on Woodbine Avenue include:

  • Removing the current asphalt and laying new asphalt

  • Making improvements to the intersections of Woodbine Avenue and Mount Albert Road,  and Woodbine Avenue and Queensville Sideroad, including oversized traffic signal heads and new overhead signs
  • Line painting
  • Replacing culverts that have reached the end of their lifespan

Woodbine Avenue will remain open to traffic throughout construction, and access to residences and businesses will be maintained.
