Protecting and Promoting Health in Child Care Workshop

What:

York Region Public Health is offering the Protecting and Promoting Health in Child Care Workshop for child care providers and early childhood educators. The focus of this workshop is on how to provide a safe and healthy environment for children in a child care setting.

Topics Include:

  • Updates to the child care guide  NEW
  • Emergency/Contingency Planning  NEW
  • Public health inspection criteria
  • Cleaning and disinfection requirements
  • Chain of transmission
  • Infection Prevention and Control Lapse – report disclosure
  • Nutrition for child care – Canada’s Food Guide  NEW
  • Immunization
  • Common childhood communicable diseases
  • Outbreak management

Who Should Participate?

  • All child care providers
  • Early childhood educators
  • Owners/operators of child care settings
  • Newly licensed child care centres

Participants will be issued a certificate of completion once they have completed the workshop.

Advanced registration is required as space is limited. Cost: $10 per person.
