On behalf of York Regional Council and the residents of our Region, it is with sadness we acknowledge the passing of former York-Simcoe MPP Julia Munro. Julia was quite simply an outstanding person and politician. The longest-serving female legislator in Ontario’s rich political history, Julia represented her constituents of York-Simcoe with pride and passion, from 1995 to last year, when she announced her retirement. I will miss my dear friend. Our communities and our Region will miss Julia just as much.
