Temporary road closure: Highway 27 in the City of Vaughan



Newmarket – The Regional Municipality of York is implementing a temporary weekend closure of Highway 27 between Rutherford Road and Martin Grove Road on Friday, October 16 at 9 p.m. until Monday, October 19, 2020 at 5 a.m. Local access will be maintained for properties in the closed section.

In order to continue work on Highway 27 and the Canadian Pacific Rail Bridge, this closure is required. To allow for preparation at the work site, one southbound lane on Highway 27 will be closed from 9:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday, October 16. All lanes will be temporarily closed as of Friday, October 16 at 9 p.m. until Monday, October 19 at 5 a.m.

Improvements are being made to the roadway and the Canadian Pacific Rail Bridge on Highway 27. The Canadian Pacific Rail Bridge is in need of replacement. Additional road improvements are also required to accommodate future growth and development in the area.

To help manage your daily commutes during construction, travellers can plan their route in advance by using traffic and navigation tools. York Region provides real-time traffic and road information in open data used by many app developers.
