Temporary weekend closure on 19th Avenue and update on Bayview Avenue construction
Newmarket – The Regional Municipality of York is continuing work to improve 19th Avenue in the Town of Richmond Hill. From Friday, December 1, 2017 at 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. on Monday, December 4, 2017, 19th Avenue will be closed from Linda Margaret Crescent/Jefferson Forest Drive to Bayview Avenue to allow CN Rail and York Region to complete rail crossing improvements.
While CN Rail made many of the necessary improvements to the rail crossing in July; there was not enough time to complete all the work due to unforeseen issues. An additional weekend of work is needed.
We recognize construction can be inconvenient and will make every effort to minimize disruption and keep residents informed with regular updates. Follow us on Facebook and Twitter using the hashtag #OnYRRoads for updates. For more information on current and upcoming construction projects, please visit york.ca/roadconstruction
As with other road construction projects, some work may be rescheduled due to weather. York Region will provide advance notice whenever possible.
York Region reminds residents to please reduce speed in the area and thanks motorists for their patience.
