This World Tourism Day pack your camera … but forget your passport

Newmarket – Today marks World Tourism Day and to celebrate The Regional Municipality of York is inviting residents to explore their own backyard.

You don't need to leave York Region to experience a variety of activities. York Region has it all, from premier amusement parks, art galleries and museums, restaurants, lush golf courses, family farms and markets, spectacular York Regional Forest trails, shopping destinations, waterfront activities and much more.

In recognition of World Tourism Day York Region joined with friends of the community and embarked on a fun-filled day trip to Tree Top Trekking in the Town of Whitchurch-Stouffville. Participants were chosen based on a contest they entered where they shared their favourite York Region destination on Instagram using the hashtag #loveyr.
