York Paramedics bring cheer to children and seniors

Newmarket – Continuing a 13-year holiday tradition, The Regional Municipality of York’s Paramedic Services will make a special delivery to three area hospitals across York Region.

New, stuffed animals and handmade blankets will be handed out to children and seniors who may spend time in the hospital over the holiday season.

Ganz Inc., a wholesale gift and toy distributor based in the City of Vaughan, graciously donated the stuffed animals and the blankets were either handmade or purchased by paramedics and their family members. Gift labels were personally sewn onto each blanket by the friends and family of Helen Galanis, the lead paramedic who has championed the initiative for the past decade.

Members of the media are invited to photograph York Region Paramedics, staff, friends and family members as they load the gifts into emergency vehicles and drive them to the hospital for delivery.
