York Region celebrates International Day of Older Persons at York Regional Forest
Newmarket – The Regional Municipality of York invites media to attend a special day at the York Regional Forest with the PROBUS Club of Richmond Hill to celebrate International Day of Older Persons.
Older Persons Day is a United Nations initiative held on October 1 to educate the world on the positive impact seniors make in our communities and examine the issues that affect their lives.
Event details include a day at the Bill Fisch Forestry Stewardship and Education Centre. Participants will learn about the York Region Seniors Strategy, YRT and Mobility on Request followed by a guided-tour of the York Regional Forest.

This event is rain or shine. Members of the media are invited take photos and join the guided tour.
