York Region Chairman and CEO Wayne Emmerson recognizes Paramedic Services Week

Chairment Statement Picture

“On behalf of York Regional Council and The Regional Municipality of York, I am pleased to acknowledge May 24 to May 30, 2020 as Paramedic Services Week and recognize the men and women who work around the clock to keep more than 1.2 million residents healthy and safe.

York Region’s paramedics play an integral role in our community, delivering a wide-range of emergency medical services. They often serve as the vital initial contact residents have with our health care system in times of crisis or emergency.

In a time when many of us are asked to stay home amid the rapidly evolving global pandemic, our emergency medical responders are selflessly running towards the unforeseen risks associated with COVID-19.

During Paramedic Services Week and throughout the year, we recognize the passion, expertise and dedication of paramedics, emergency medical dispatchers and the network of paramedic support staff. Together, they help keep our communities safe for all our residents.

On behalf of our Regional Council and our residents, I extend our deepest appreciation to York Region’s paramedics and thank them for the important contributions they make to the community.”
