Chairment Statement Picture

“On behalf of York Regional Council and The Regional Municipality of York, it gives me great pleasure to recognize May 17 to May 23, 2020 as National Public Works Week.

Each year, National Public Works Week provides an opportunity to celebrate the many public works professionals who contribute to the high quality of life we experience in our communities every single day.

From building and maintaining key infrastructure and facilities to improving and protecting our natural environment and clean water supply, it is through dedication and hard work of our public works teams that York Region remains a strong, caring and safe community.

This year’s National Public Works Week theme, The Rhythm of Public Works, challenges residents and businesses to think about their communities as a symphony of essential services working in harmony to create a great place to live and conduct business.

On behalf of York Region and our 1.2 million residents who rely on our services every day, I thank York Region’s public works professionals for their tireless effort in providing high-quality essential services 24-hours a day.”
