York Region hosts third annual Broadband and Innovation Summit 



Newmarket – The Regional Municipality of York is hosting the York Region Broadband & Innovation Summit on Friday, October 27 at the Sheraton Parkway Toronto North Hotel and Suites in the Town of Richmond Hill.

The summit will feature presentations and a panel discussion on the importance of innovation in sustaining and accelerating economic growth, as well as the factors that enable innovation. Attendees will receive an update on initiatives York Region has undertaken to further mobilize the Region’s broadband agenda, including the planned expansion of the York Telecom Network (YTN).

Who:

This is York Region’s third annual Broadband and Innovation Summit. Previous conferences focused on the increasing role of broadband in society, as well as the social and economic benefits achieved by Intelligent Communities.

Improved broadband is one of the key priorities for York Regional Council. Additionally, access to high-speed Internet is one of the grounding principles of York Region's Economic Development Action Plan.
