York Region launches second Lendery in Newmarket

Newmarket – The Regional Municipality of York joins Newmarket Public Library and NewMakeIt to host a ribbon cutting ceremony for the grand opening of York Region’s Lendery location at the Newmarket Public Library in the Town of Newmarket.

  • A Lendery is like a library where you sign out items rather than books – things you need at the moment but don’t need to own
  • A Lendery membership lets residents borrow a wide range of items including party supplies, small kitchen appliances, sports equipment or tools
  • The Lendery supports York Region’s SM4RT Living Plan Reuse, Repair and Repurpose strategy to achieve approximately 5% reduction in waste generation by 2031
  • The first Lendery location opened at Miliken Mills Community Centre and Library in the City of Markham in July 2019
