York Region's annual emergency management conference to highlight trends and emerging threats 

Event to address climate change, opioid crisis and cyberattacks 

Newmarket – The Regional Municipality of York is hosting the 2017 Inter-Municipal Emergency Training and Education Conference on Friday, October 20. York Region’s community partners in emergency management — including municipalities, non-government organizations, utilities and staff will attend the conference.

With a conference theme of Emergency Management Trends: Forces Shaping the Present and Future, experts will discuss the opioid crisis, cyber-attacks and climate change. A list of speakers is available in the conference program.
