Newmarket – York Region Transit (YRT) service changes will take effect on Sunday, November 1, 2020. Schedule and route changes will be made to adjust to changing customer demand, including the introduction of new Express and expansion of Mobility On-Request services.

  • Route 760 Vaughan Mills – offering weekday service on Friday, November 27 and from December 14 to 31, for the holiday season
  • New Route 305 Box Grove Express – providing service between the community of Box Grove in the City of Markham to Finch GO Bus Terminal in the City of Toronto

New Mobility On-Request services:

  • Bur Oak
  • King City GO
  • Stouffville

Due to the continued impacts of COVID-19, many YRT services are either not operating or on a reduced schedule; this will continue until further notice.

Travellers are encouraged to visit yrt.ca/servicechanges to review changes that may affect their travel plans.

YRT continues to monitor updates from York Region Public Health to ensure the safety of all travellers and staff and reduce the spread of COVID-19. Measures in place include:

  • Mandatory non-medical face mask or covering for all travellers that are able while on public transit
  • Front-door boarding and requiring travellers to exit the middle/rear doors to create a one-way flow
  • Increased cleaning and disinfection of buses and facilities
  • Barrier shields installed on all buses to provide additional protection between passengers and drivers
  • Face masks, sanitizers and other personal protective equipment provided to all drivers and front-line staff

In addition to these measures, customers are strongly encouraged to use contactless forms of payment, including PRESTO and the Pay app, practice physical distancing and travel during off-peak times wherever possible, exercise good hand hygiene and staying home when sick.
