Feel the rhythm during National Public Works Week

Thank You Public Works Staff

Public Works staff plays a major role in this symphony and from May 17 to 23 York Region is celebrating National Public Works Week, themed “The rhythm of Public Works”, by highlighting the community as a symphony of essential services, working in concert with our colleagues across the Region, including our partners in cities and towns, to create a great place to live.

Faced with the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, Public Works staff remains dedicated and committed to delivering a symphony of essential services to the community. The services they provide, well-maintained roads and buildings, reliable transit, infrastructure solutions to support high-speed internet, state-of-the-art water treatment facilities, waste management and forest conservation, are what draw residents and businesses to York Region, instill community pride and provide a high quality of life.

Public works not only focuses on the present needs of the community but also future needs and is always evolving, especially now with the unique needs of the community.

To thank Public Works for the amazing work done each and every day to enhance the lives of residents and to keep the community safe, connected and harmonious, York Region has created this video.

York Region is also inviting residents to join the celebration by sharing messages of appreciation and gratitude to Public Works employees along with downloadable Public Works graphics on Facebook and Twitter using the hashtag #SpiritofYR.
