Highway 427 between Highway 7 and Zenway permanently closing

Highway 427 is being extended by LINK427 under contract to the Ontario Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure Ontario from Highway 7 to Major Mackenzie Drive. In order to complete the extension of Highway 427 north of Highway 7, the section from Highway 7 to Zenway Boulevard currently known as York Regional Road 99 will be permanently closed starting August 8, 2020.
The 6.6 kilometer extension will have three new interchanges in the City of Vaughan, including Langstaff Road, Rutherford Road and Major Mackenzie Drive. Completion of the Highway 427 Expansion is expected in 2021.

In preparation for the Highway 427 Expansion, York Region continues to do considerable work to Major Mackenzie Drive between Highway 400 and Highway 50. Work includes widening Major Mackenzie Drive to six lanes, realigning the road at Highway 27 to provide a continuous connection and installing a multi-use path, sidewalks and street lighting.
