January 6, 2021
Transforming the intersection of King Road and Weston Road

The Regional Municipality of York is investing in building a safe, efficient and reliable Regional transportation network for all users. We are improving the intersection of King Road and Weston Road in the Township of King to accommodate growth and improve traffic flow.
Construction Update
Since construction began in mid-July 2019, the following improvements have been completed:
- Road widening work on the south side and north side of King Road
- Installation of upgraded permanent tra c signals at King Road and Weston Road
- Installation of retaining walls along King Road
- Construction of the slopes on the side of the road
- Construction of the ditches on the side of the road to help funnel water from the road
Construction will not be completed until early summer 2021 due to a delay in unforeseen site and weather conditions. The remaining work to be completed includes:
- Final top layer of asphalt paving and line markings on King Road and Weston Road
- Final clean up and restoration of the area
Construction has shut down for the winter and will resume in spring 2021.
