Legal and Court Services celebrates Law Day

Three options if you receive a ticket

Ontario Law Day takes place Tuesday, April 17th. The day is meant to enhance the public's understanding of the law, the role of lawyers and judges and empower the public at large.

This Law Day Legal and Court Services are launching a new public-facing campaign to promote their Regional service and help inform York Region residents of their options if they receive a ticket (also called an Offence Notice). Curious about available options?

  1. Route 1: Plead guilty and pay the total fine
  2. Route 2. Plead guilty before the Justice of the Peace
  3. Route 3. Plead not guilty – go to trial

For more information  on the campaign visit york.ca/tickets or check out the recently refreshed Legal and Court Services website at york.ca/courts

York Region encourages you to take care and drive carefully on Law Day and all year-round.
