Update #2: Spring 2019

The Regional Municipality of York is investing in building a safe, efficient and reliable Regional transportation network for all users. Improvements to Leslie Street and 19th Avenue in the City of Richmond Hill are underway to accommodate growth and improve traffic flow.

Improvements include:

  • Improving traffic flow by connecting 19th Avenue at Leslie Street, and installing traffic signals, left turn lanes and street lights
  • Meeting the needs of travellers by widening Leslie Street to four lanes from Elgin Mills Road to 19th Avenue
  • Providing more travel options for residents by installing a multi-use path on the west side of Leslie Street and a sidewalk on the east side of Leslie Street and enhancing street lighting to encourage cycling and walking along Regional roads
