New tool helps find programs and services you need

New tool helps you find the programs and services you need during the COVID-19

To slow the spread of the COVID-19, York Region made significant changes to services and programming offered by the Region, including temporary closures, reduced hours and changes to how residents can interact with staff. These changes will continue to evolve as the province begins to re-open in stages over the next few weeks and months.

To ensure residents have a “no-wrong-door” experience during these unprecedented times, the Region’s has leveraged their partnership with Findhelp/211 to develop the COVID-19 Community Services and Facility Finder. The new tool is designed to help people access updated and reliable information about programs and services in their community.

The tool has direct access to Findhelp/211 data and is updated regularly. Findhelp also manages an inventory of service providers for the 211 Ontario Central Region, including York, Durham and Peel Regions and the City of Toronto. This arrangement allows the Region to provide a comprehensive inventory of all services.

The COVID-19 Community Services and Facility Finder tool also uses the York Maps platform. This lets residents locate facilities and access information on a searchable map. Users can search for programs and services by name, type, address or municipality. It provides residents with a single source of current, trusted and accurate information.

The COVID-19 Community Services and Facility Finder  is a useful tool to connect York Region residents with the information and supports they need, when they need it most.
