The Regional Municipality Of York

Intersection Closure on Ninth Line in Whitchurch-Stouffville

The Regional Municipality of York is working in your community, rehabilitating the Ninth Line Sanitary Sewer from Hoover Park Drive to Reeves Way Boulevard. There will be a temporary closure at the intersection of Ninth Line and Hare Farm Gate.

When: During weekends between October 16 and November 30, 2020

What can you expect?

  • Motorists are advised to use the detour route along Northway Avenue to Reeves Way Boulevard for access to Ninth Line
  • Ninth Line, Hoover Park Drive and Reeves Way Boulevard will remain open to traffic, however there will be periodic lane restrictions
  • Due to the nature of the work, there will be some construction-related noise from the equipment and trucks, though every effort to minimize noise will be made
  • Access to all homes and buildings will be kept and there is no impact to your water or wastewater services
  • YRT transit service along Ninth Line will continue throughout the rehabilitation work. Riders can call the YRT Contact Centre at 1-866-668-3978 or visit for more information
  • We understand the temporary intersection closures are disruptive; thank you for your patience while we complete this vital work. We remind all motorists to please reduce your speed in the construction area. Visit for more information about water and wastewater construction projects

Safety is the Region’s top priority; as we continue to deliver essential services while staying current with all health and safety related information and complying with guidelines related to COVID-19 published by the Ontario Ministry of Health, Ministry of Labour, Training and Skills Development and York Region Public Health.
