Overnight Work in Newmarket for Forcemain Twinning Project

The Regional Municipality of York is making improvements to our wastewater system. Work is occurring through the Town of Newmarket for the Forcemain Twinning Project. The work will improve the reliability of the sewage system and allow for future maintenance on the existing forcemain.

There will be overnight shutdowns in order to conduct work on the forcemain. The work needs to be done overnight when flows to the pumping stations are low. During this time there will be an increase in truck traffic.

  • Bayview Pumping Station at 16300 Bayview Avenue
  • Old Bloomington Road and Bloomington Road
  • Bogart Pumping Station at 319 Hamilton Street and College Manor Park
  • Work Area 10 and St. Andrew's Valley Golf Club

Thursday, November 5, 2020 and Friday, November 6, 2020 from 10:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.

What can you expect?

  • Access to all homes and buildings will be maintained
  • Increased truck traffic in the area
  • Construction related noise from trucks, though every effort to minimize noise will be made
  • Traffic flow will be maintained
  • Staff will be on site to assist with the movement of local traffic, as required

We understand overnight work can be disruptive to those who live near the construction area and we have taken steps to reduce the impacts where possible. Thank you for your patience while we complete this vital work.

Please note that safety is the Region’s top priority. As we monitor the ongoing COVID-19 situation in York Region, we continue to deliver essential services while staying current with all health and safety related information and complying with guidelines related to COVID-19 published by the Ontario Ministry of Health, Ministry of Labour, Training and Skills Development and York Region Public Health. As with all construction projects, some work may be re-scheduled due to weather or other conditions.

This project is funded in part by the Government of Canada.
