Stay warm in this extreme cold weather

Thermometer in the snow

Environment Canada has issued an extreme cold warning for York Region. The warning is expected to last until Friday, February 1. Warnings are issued when very cold temperatures or wind chill increase health risks.

York Region funds six emergency housing facilities and two seasonal shelters that provide a safe place for residents to stay when they experience homelessness. Visit york.ca/emergencyhousing for a list of emergency housing facilities and seasonal shelter providers to contact if someone is outside and in need of shelter from the cold.

You can also visit york.ca/extremecold for information and tips about how to keep you and your family safe.
