York Region has reopened Warden Avenue, between Herald Road and Mount Albert Road, in the Town of East Gwillimbury. The road is now open to all travellers in the area.

This closure was done in order to accommodate the rehabilitation of the bridge located on Warden Avenue, south of Mount Albert Road. The rehabilitation work included: deck strengthening, concrete barrier wall replacement, a new asphalt wearing surface, and waterproofing.

Improvements include:

  • Extended bridge service life
  • Improved riding condition over the bridge
  • Enhanced safety to road users
