Waste Less and Save More with the Good Food Challenge!

Over the past year we have shifted our lives to adjust to COVID-19. During this time, you may have noticed you’re spending more money on groceries, or more time in the kitchen. Have you also noticed your green bin filling up faster than ever before?
In the early days of the pandemic the amount of green bin waste collected was rising, in some cases it increased as high as 20 per cent over last year as everyone adjusted to staying in and cooking at home. It’s been estimated that households throw away as much as $1500 per year in wasted food!
If you’ve noticed you’re spending more on groceries while your green bin is feeling heavier you may want to join the Good Food Challenge – a challenge created in partnership with York Region Food Network and Neighbours for the Planet.
The Good Food Challenge can help you:
  • Waste less food
  • Save money
  • Save time
  • Improve your kitchen skills

This is a simple 4-week challenge, during the month of February, with weekly tips, tools and resources to help guide you along the way, as well as weekly prizes to be won!
