York Region’s Provincial Offences Courts are now offering in-person services by appointment only.

Beginning Monday, January 25, 2021, all in-person front desk services at the Newmarket and Richmond Hill courthouses require an appointment.

While court users are encouraged to use online services as much as possible, in-person front counter service is available with an appointment for the following services:

• Make a payment
• File trial requests
• Obtain appeal information
• File re-opening and time extension applications
• General inquiries

Due to the provincial emergency order, prosecution front counters services will be unavailable until Thursday, February 11, 2021.

Those with a scheduled trial should not attend court in person as courtrooms remain closed. All in-person Provincial Offences Act court matters, including trials, will be rescheduled and held by remote audio hearings. A new notice will be sent to you by email or mail with further information.

When booking an appointment, you will be asked to provide your name, phone number, email address and offence number.

Once an appointment is booked, a confirmation will be sent to the email address provided.
