York Region’s clock towers will be lit in periwinkle blue on

On November 30, landmarks across Canada will be lit in periwinkle blue to help raise awareness about stomach cancer, the third leading cause of cancer death in the world.  It is estimated that in Canada, this year alone, 4,100 people will be diagnosed. There is very little awareness for this cancer that has a five-year survival rate of 25%.

York Region will be joining other cities across Canada and beyond to help raise awareness by illuminating the clock tower at the Administrative Centre in blue.  You too, can help raise awareness. Wear periwinkle blue, take pictures and post on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter using the hashtags: #PowerOfPeriwinkle #StomachCancerAwareness #mygutfeeling

My Gut Feeling - Stomach Cancer Foundation of Canada is the only non-profit organization in Canada dedicated to supporting stomach cancer patients, survivors and caregivers through education, awareness and advocacy.

For more information, visit mygutfeeling.ca. Register for their upcoming free conference on November 30th, attend one of their monthly support groups or donate!
