Recently Completed Projects

2016 - Richmond Hill Hub, Richmond Hill

Richmond Hill Hub is a mixed-use development located at 10415 Yonge Street in the Town of Richmond Hill. Richmond Hill Hub is a nine-storey building, comprised of 202 mixed-income housing apartment units and an area allocated for a future social enterprise space.

Approximately 18,000 square feet of space has been specifically designed for Youth Services operated by 360° kids. These include:

  • Home Base: a youth drop-in centre, which provides services to address issues such as employment, family breakdown, life skills, food security, housing support, counselling, and recreational activities
  • Connections: 14 emergency housing rooms, and
  • STAY (Supportive Transitional Apartments for Youth): 11 transitional housing spaces.

Also included in this building is a commercial space for the corporate offices of 360°kids.

The Hub is located within a transit corridor and close to local amenities. The overall development helps address the need for affordable housing in the community as well as provides services for York Region youth.

2015 - Belinda’s Place, Newmarket

Opened in November 2015, Belinda’s Place is an emergency and transitional housing facility located at 16580 Yonge St, Newmarket. This new facility gives homeless women a safe and supportive environment so that they can find and keep housing in the community. 

This building is owned by Housing York Inc. and is operated by The Salvation Army of Canada. This 23,000 square foot facility has 28 emergency bedrooms and nine transitional housing suites, along with a ground floor commercial kitchen and offices. The facility also includes space for the delivery of over 50 services provided by The Salvation Army in Canada and community based agencies.

Under Development

Future Market and Affordable Rental Apartments in the Town of Whitchurch-Stouffville

The Regional Municipality of York is proposing to construct an apartment building with approximately 100 residential units and ground floor non-residential space at 5676 Main Street in the Community of Stouffville.

New affordable housing for seniors in Unionville

The Regional Municipality of York is working with Unionville Home Society (UHS) and Minto Communities on a master plan to redevelop the UHS campus to include:

  • An affordable rental building for seniors, owned and operated by Housing York Inc. (HYI), York Region’s non-profit housing corporation
  • A new Minto Communities townhome development

The proposed 11-storey HYI building will include 260 apartments for seniors, a public community centre and a seniors hub offering seniors-focused services to the community.

Woodbridge Redevelopment

The Region is working with VanMar Constructors, a design/build development partner, to redevelop three properties located on Woodbridge Avenue, near the intersection of Kipling Avenue and Highway 7, in the City of Vaughan.
