Transportation Demand Management

By enhancing personal travel options within York Region and beyond through walking, cycling, public transit, carpooling and other strategies, more efficient use can be made of existing infrastructure. This approach works to redistribute the travel demand on the transportation network, often referred to as Transportation Demand Management (TDM), by shifting demand to a mix of travel modes and away from the busiest travel periods of the day. This approach contributes to reducing travel times, traffic impacts and vehicle emissions for everyone.
