1. Diversity and Inclusion Policy and Charter
Committee recommended receipt of the presentation by Aisha Saintiche, Senior Policy Analyst, Strategies and Partnerships Branch, Community and Health Services. Committee provided input regarding draft key areas of organizational responsibility and the guiding principles of a Diversity and Inclusion Policy and Charter.

Committee recommended receipt of the communication from Adelina Urbanski, Commissioner of Community and Health Services dated September 28, 2016, regarding “Accessibility (Compliance) Report on the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA): Compliance with the Design of Public Spaces Requirements – January 1, 2016”.
3. Resignation of Jocelyn Hunt – Member of the York Region Accessibility Advisory Committee
Committee recommended receipt of the communication from Lisa Gonsalves, Director of Strategies and Partnerships dated September 28, 2016, regarding the resignation of Jocelyn Hunt, member of the Accessibility Advisory Committee. Jocelyn has accepted a position at York Region in the Long-Term Care Branch of Community and Health Services.

4. Legacy Event Update
Committee received a verbal update from Joann Simmons, Chair of the working group which will develop and execute a Legacy Event, involving educational and networking forums.
5. Update on Accessibility Activities
Committee received a verbal update from Lois Davies, Manager, Social Policy and Accessibility, Strategies and Partnerships Branch, Community and Health Services regarding:
1. Invitation to participate in Metrolinx’s 2016 Accessibility Public Meetings pertaining to GO Transit, Presto, UP Express and Rapid Transit
2. Federal government’s consultations regarding establishment of a “Canadians with Disabilities Act”
3. Official launch of Accessibility Self-Assessment Tool
6. Julia Salzmann
Committee was introduced to a new staff member, Julia Salzmann, Research and Policy Analyst, Strategies and Partnerships Branch, Community and Health Services, who will be working on the Diversity and Inclusion Strategy.
7. Next Meeting
The next meeting of the Accessibility Advisory Committee is scheduled on November 23, 2016 at 4 p.m.
