1. 2018 Municipal Election Accessibility Plan
The Committee received the presentation by Christopher Raynor, Regional Clerk and Colin Goodeve, Deputy Regional Clerk.
2. Accessibility Improvements at Intersections [4.7 MB]
1. The Committee received the presentation by Doug MacKay, Manager, Engineering, Capital Planning and Delivery, Transportation Services Department.
2. The Committee recommended that Transportation Services staff bring the issue of inconsistent audible tones at intersections to the attention of various Ontario-wide transportation associations, and request that the province require the implementation of consistent tones, for the safety and security of pedestrians.

The Committee received the communication from Christopher Raynor, Regional Clerk dated May 18, 2018 regarding ‘Update on the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005 and the York Region Accessibility Advisory Committee’.
4. Review of Employment Standards – York Region’s Response
The Committee received the communication from Katherine Chislett, Commissioner of Community and Health Services dated May 18, 2018 regarding ‘Review of Employment Standards – York Region’s Response’.

5. Update on Accessibility Activities
The Committee received an update on accessibility activities from Kim Adeney, Program Manager, Accessibility, Strategies and Partnerships Branch, Community and Health Services Department, as follows:
1. York Region will host the third legislative review of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005 on August 29, 2018 from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.
2. An overview of the final recommendations released regarding the Transportation Standards Review
