The Board of Directors of Housing York Inc. met at 1:08 p.m. in Committee Room A, Regional Administrative Centre, 17250 Yonge Street, Newmarket, Ontario with Regional Councillor Heath in the chair.

16-39 Confirmation of Minutes

 

It was moved by Regional Chair Emmerson, seconded by Mayor Dawe that the Board confirm the Minutes of the November 3, 2016 meeting of the Board of Directors of Housing York Inc., which was Carried.

16-40 Presentation – 2017 Business Plan and Budget

 

Rick Farrell, General Manager, Housing and Michelle Willson, Director, Program Finance and Chief Financial Officer made a presentation regarding “2017 Business Plan and Budget”.

It was moved by Regional Councillor Armstrong, seconded by Mayor Quirk that the Board receive the foregoing presentation, which was Carried.

 

16-41 Communication – Housing Operations - Monthly Activity Update

 

Rick Farrell, General Manager, Housing dated December 1, 2016

It was moved by Regional Chair Emmerson, seconded by Mayor Hackson that the Board receive the foregoing communication, which was Carried.

 

Reports

 

16-42 2017 Business Plan and Budget [3.4 MB]

 

Report dated November 17, 2016 from the General Manager and Chief Financial Officer recommending that:

1. The Board of Directors approve the Housing York 2017 Business Plan and Budget as summarized in Attachment 1.

2. The Board of Directors approve funding of $172,600 from Housing York retained earnings to upgrade the Yardi property management software system.

It was moved by Regional Councillor Armstrong, seconded by Mayor Quirk that the foregoing recommendations be adopted, which was Carried.

 

16-43 Write-Off Former Tenant Bad Debts

 

Report dated November 18, 2016 from the General Manager and Chief Financial Officer recommending that:

1. The Board of Directors approve the write-off of three former tenant accounts totalling $66,428.15.

It was moved by Regional Chair Emmerson, seconded by Mayor Dawe that the foregoing recommendations be adopted, which was Carried.

 

16-44 Other Business

 

Kerry Hobbs – Director of Operations, Housing York Inc.

Rick Farrell, General Manager, Housing advised that Kerry Hobbs will assume the position of Director of Operations for Housing York Inc. beginning in January 2017.

 

There being no further business, the Board adjourned at 2:19 p.m.
