Markham Highway 7 Watermain Rehabilitation
York Region is replacing and rehabilitating a 2.8 kilometre section of the Markham Bullock Church Highway 7 Watermain, between Hawkridge Avenue and Ninth Line, in the City of Markham.
A new alignment is required as the Church Street route cannot accommodate the new watermain. The existing watermain will be decommissioned, with the new main routed south on Hawkridge Avenue, east along Highway 7 to Ninth Line, and installed on Ninth Line between Church Street and Rose Way, and between Highway 7 and Berczy Gate.
Duration: Spring 2026 to 2028
After the watermain is installed, the area will be restored and the road repaved.
Impacts
- There is no planned impact to your water or wastewater services
- Access to all residents and businesses will be maintained
- Temporary lane restrictions along Bullock Drive, Hawkridge Avenue, Highway 7, Church Street and Ninth Line may be required
- Due to the nature of work, there will be additional construction vehicles in the area
