Water and Wastewater Construction Projects
York Region has scheduled projects for building water and wastewater structures and facilities over the next 10 years. This 10-Year Capital Construction Program has been designed to meet the needs of York Region’s rapidly growing population.

Clean Water and Wastewater Fund
York Region is anticipated to receive approximately $35 million in funding for several water and wastewater capital projects through the Clean Water and Wastewater Fund (CWWF).
The Clean Water and Wastewater Fund provides funding to projects that contribute to the rehabilitation of both water treatment and distribution infrastructure and existing wastewater and stormwater treatment systems; collection and conveyance infrastructure; and initiatives that improve asset management, system optimization, and planning for future upgrades to water and wastewater systems.

East Gwillimbury
Holland Landing Lagoon Carbon Sequestration Study
York Region and Lake Simcoe Regional Conservation Authority have begun a carbon sequestration study at the Holland Landing Lagoon site in the Town of East Gwillimbury. The study is looking to better understand the benefits of carbon sequestration in restored and naturally occurring prairie and grassland habitats.

Mount Albert Water and Wastewater Facilities
York Region will be rehabilitating the Mount Albert groundwater wells facilities, sewage pumping station, and the water resource recovery facility to extend the infrastructure lifespan and increase service capacity.

Georgina Water Treatment Plant
York Region is rehabilitating the Georgina Water Treatment Plant, in the Town of Georgina.
High Street and Woodriver Bend Sewage Pumping Stations Upgrade
York Region is conducting field studies to support upgrades to High Street and Woodriver Bend Sewage Pumping Stations in the community of Sutton. The field studies are part of a review to extend the pumping stations service life and expand wastewater servicing.

Keswick Sewage Pumping Station Upgrades and New Sanitary Forcemain Construction
York Region is upgrading the Keswick Sewage Pumping Station. As part of the upgrades, two new sanitary forcemains are being built, connecting the Keswick Sewage Pumping Station to the Keswick Water Resource Recovery Facility.

Morton Avenue Sewer and Maintenance Holes Rehabilitation
York is rehabilitating a section of the sewer, chambers and related maintenance holes along Morton Avenue between The Queensway South and Woodbine Avenue in the community of Keswick.

Nobleton Sewage Pumping Station
York Region is conducting multiple field studies in preparation for the Nobleton Sewage Pumping Station rehabilitation project.

16th Avenue Sewer System Rehabilitation
York Region is rehabilitating a 3-kilometre section of the sanitary sewer along 16th Avenue, between Ninth Line and Mingay Avenue in the City of Markham.

Bayview Water Pumping Station Upgrades in the City of Markham
York Region is improving the Bayview Water Pumping Station located at 8171 Bayview Avenue. The work will extend the life of the pumping station and support the continued supply of safe, quality drinking water to your community.

Tuclor Lane Sewer Upgrades
York Region is upgrading and rehabilitating approximately 1 kilometre of the Tuclor Lane sewer and 14 maintenance holes that were originally built in 1956. The sections of the Tuclor Lane sewer being upgraded are between Highway 7 and Tuclor Lane and travel through the Rogue Valley Park, in the City of Markham. The upgrade and rehabilitation work is needed to extend the service life of the sewer.

Newmarket
Newmarket East Elevated Tank Upgrades
York Region is upgrading the mechanical and electrical system in the Newmarket East Elevated Tank.

Newmarket Wells Facility Upgrade
York Region is upgrading the Newmarket Wells 13 & 16 Facility to support a new water treatment process. As part of the work, multiple field studies are being conducted including:
- Topographical survey
- Inspection of the wells and facilities
- Geotechnical investigation
- Hydrogeological investigations
- Utility surveys

Water Meter Chamber, Harry Walker Parkway
York Region is constructing a new water meter chamber north of the Harry Walker Parkway and Ringwell Drive intersection, in the Town of Newmarket. The water meter chamber will measure water flow in the watermain.

Richmond Hill
Oak Ridges Air Management Facility
York Region is building a new air management facility near the intersection of Yonge Street and King Road in the City of Richmond Hill.
Vaughan
Humber Sewage Pumping Station to Black Creek Sewage Pumping Station Sewage Forcemain Rehabilitation
York Region is rehabilitating the twin sewage forcemain and chambers between the Humber Pump Station and Black Creek Pump Station. The rehabilitation work will extend the life of the forcemain and chambers. Before the rehabilitation work begins, York Region needs to conduct multiple field studies.

York Region is upgrading the Humber Sewage Pumping Station in the City of Vaughan. The work will expand capacity, extend the service life of the sewage pumping station, and make sure critical wastewater services are continually provided to the community.

York Region is upgrading the South Maple Reservoir by replacing the reservoirs access houses, security fence and upgrading the underground reservoirs.

Southeast Trunk Sewer and Odour Control Facility Rehabilitation
The Regional Municipality of York is rehabilitating the Southeast Collector Trunk Sewer shafts and the existing York Durham Sewage System odour control facility in the City of Pickering. The work will extend the life of the sewer and ensure critical wastewater services are provided to the community.
