Night Work and Water Service Interruption along Langstaff Road
York Region is replacing and upgrading air valves and chambers in various locations in the cities of Markham, Richmond Hill, Vaughan and the Town of Whitchurch-Stouffville. To complete this work, water service will be temporarily shut off for some businesses along Langstaff Road in the City of Vaughan. To minimize any disruptions, crews will be working overnight. This will be a test isolation and will be followed by a second isolation during which the work will be completed.
Duration: Thursday April 23, 2026 from 9 p.m. to Friday April 24, 2026 at 4 a.m.
Impacts
- Before the water is turned off, please plan to have water available for your business to use. We recommend filling large containers with drinking water and using sinks or tubs to store water. Once service is restored, run cold water taps for a few minutes to clear any air bubbles
- While work is expected to be brief, if the outage extends beyond the scheduled time, York Region will contact affected businesses directly and will work to restore service as quickly as possible
- Due to the nature of work, there will be additional construction vehicles in the area
Access to all residences and businesses will be maintained.
As with all construction projects, some work may be rescheduled due to weather or other conditions. York Region will provide advance notice where possible.
Thank you for your patience during the construction period. We understand construction creates challenges for the community and we are working to deliver this project with minimal disruption.
