Notice of Water Service Interruption - Keele Street Valve Repair
The Regional Municipality of York and the City of Vaughan are repairing a watermain valve between Vaughan CARES Way and McNaughton Road, in the City of Vaughan. This work is required to maintain reliable water service and ensure the continued operation of critical infrastructure. To complete this work, we need to temporarily reduce the water pressure available to businesses in the Keele Street industrial area.
When: Saturday, July 25 at 6 p.m. to Sunday, July 26, at 11:30 p.m.
Where: Between Vaughan CARES Way and McNaughton Road, refer to the map for the impacted area
Impacts to Businesses
- During the water service interruption, water supply to the fire suppression system will be compromised. Please ensure required firewatch measures are implemented and sufficient water will be available
- To avoid any impact on business water systems during the water service interruption, do not turn on the hot water tap
- It is recommended when the water service is restored, to open the cold water taps for a few minutes to clear any air bubbles
- The work on the watermain is planned to be as brief as possible; however, if the water reduction is longer than the times noted, we will work to restore water service as soon as possible
- As with all construction projects, some work may be re-scheduled due to weather or other conditions
Thank you for your patience while we complete this work. For more information about any water or wastewater construction projects, visit york.ca/WaterConstruction
