Overnight Road Closure on 16th Avenue

York Region is widening and improving 16th Avenue from Leslie Street to Warden Avenue in the cities of Richmond Hill and Markham to accommodate growth and provide more1 travel options. An overnight road closure is required for bridge repairs over the Rouge River.

The closure will be on 16th Avenue at the Rouge River Bridge, between Cachet Woods Court and Woodbine Avenue in the City of Markham.

Duration: Monday, October 26, 2026 at 8 p.m. until Tuesday, October 27 at 6 a.m.

The rain date for this work is Tuesday, October 27, 2026 at 8 p.m. until Wednesday, October 28 at 6 a.m. As with all construction projects, work may be rescheduled due to weather. York Region will provide advance notice where possible.
