Temporary Lane Reductions on Bayview Avenue

Marianneville Stonehaven Developments Ltd. will be replacing a culvert on Bayview Avenue at Weslie Creek in the Town of Newmarket to alleviate storm flooding and improve infrastructure as part of their development project. To complete the culvert replacement, lane reductions are required on Bayview Avenue between Stonehaven Avenue/Silken Laumann Drive and Laurelwood Gate/Brooker Ridge. 

Bayview Avenue will be reduced to one lane in each direction, with work occurring in two stages:

• Stage 1: Traffic and pedestrian access will shift to the east side of Bayview Avenue while work takes place on the west side
• Stage 2: Traffic and pedestrian access will shift to the west side while work occurs on the east side

Duration: Monday, January 26, 2026 at 7 a.m. to Friday, July 31, 2026 at 7 p.m.

Impacts to travellers

• Local traffic will be maintained and entrances to businesses will remain open
• Pedestrian access will remain open on one side of road throughout the closure period
• Signs will be in place to guide travellers 

As with all construction projects, work may be rescheduled due to weather. York Region will provide advance notice where possible. Thank you for your patience during the closure period.
