The information session will introduce the emotion regulation system and help participants better understand their emotions. Participants will create their own aromatic sachet using calming scents. Participants will be introduced to common aging challenges in newcomer communities, and learn strategies to maintain physical, mental, and social wellbeing. This program will increase participants' health literacy and confidence in accessing community resources.

This workshop is open to community members of all ages. Join Odeiwin in recognition of National Day for Truth and Reconciliation for this unique, land-based community gathering. Inspired by the 2026 Welcoming Week theme of Stories We Share: The Courage to Connect, participants will explore the importance of place, belonging, and connection through Indigenous teachings, shared conversation, and time spent outdoors on the land. Workshop concludes with a gathering around the sacred fire. 

This workshop is presented in partnership between the Whitchurch-Stouffville Museum and Stouffville Library.
