Notice of Construction for Sharon Trunk Sewer
York Region is partnering with the Sharon West Landowners Group and the Town of East Gwillimbury, to retrofit sections of the Sharon Trunk Sewer connecting to the 2nd Concession Pumping Station. This work will improve the system’s capacity during peak wastewater flow events.
Duration: Spring 2026 to spring 2027
Work will occur Monday to Friday, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Impacts
- No planned impact to water or wastewater services
- There will be additional construction vehicles in the area and on site
- Access to the Nokiidaa Trail will be maintained; however, users may experience occasional delays due to the movement of construction vehicles near the trail access points
- Due to nature of the work, some noise from equipment on-site is expected; every effort to minimize noise will be made
- Localized restrictions will be in place on the pedestrian and cycling lanes on the west side of the Holland River Bridge
As with all construction projects, some work may be rescheduled due to weather or other conditions. York Region will provide advance notice where possible.
