Affordable Housing Facilitation Program
Supporting More Affordable Housing in York Region
The Affordable Housing Facilitation Program (AHFP) reflects York Region’s commitment to increasing housing supply, supporting community partnerships and creating more affordable housing opportunities for residents.
By simplifying access to information, fostering collaboration and helping organizations navigate the housing development process, the AHFP aims to accelerate the delivery of affordable housing across York Region.
Program Purpose
The Affordable Housing Facilitation Program (AHFP) is York Region’s dedicated support service designed to help affordable housing providers navigate the development process and bring new housing projects to life.
Recognizing that developing affordable housing can be complex – often involving multiple approvals, funding streams, partners and technical requirements – the AHFP takes a collaborative approach to helping proponents move projects forward.
Through coordination across Regional departments and with external partners, the program provides guidance, connections and problem-solving support at key stages of the development process. By helping to clarify requirements, facilitate communication and address challenges as they arise, the AHFP aims to reduce barriers and support more timely and effective project delivery.
